Bullying Statement by Piper Reese (actor playing 'Clare' in 'From Under The Bridge: When Bullies Become Trolls')...
YouTube Video Description:
Actor Piper Reese (‘From Under the Bridge: When Bullies Become Trolls’) responds to Chrissy Teigen & links bullying, anxiety & depression. Chrissy Teigen’s actions have bullying, anxiety & Megan Meier back in the public consciousness. Let’s not turn this into a cancel-attack on Chrissy Teigen. Instead, it’s time to step up recognition of the signs and curb cyberbullying attacks across personal texts, social media and everywhere in between.
The upcoming film ‘From Under the Bridge: When Bullies Become Trolls’ is inspired by the horrifying cyberbullying and bullying victimization of teen Megan Meier. The parallels between the film and Chrissy Teigen’s attacks on Courtney Stodden are horrifyingly similar.
People were unaware of cyberbullying when Piper took it up online in 2009. In the twelve years since, there have been multiple stories of teen victims where severe cyberbullying have led to anxiety, depression and suicide. It’s reported that Michael Costello from ‘Project Runway’ nearly took his own life due to “trauma” from Chrissy Teigen.
Through our own interactions with authorities at the state and federal levels over the years at Piper’s Picks, we’ve personally experienced the limitations on authorities to pursue cyberbullying and online child abuse in general. It’s time to step up the discussions, the action and the changes needed to save lives and curb anxiety, depression and suicide linked to cyberbullying and severe bullying in general.
